Work Party for Oregon State Match
We will be having our "final" work party this Saturday the 19th. We will start at 9am and go until we have the defined scope completed. If we can get five or six hardy souls we should be out of there no later than noon. This is an important work party and I hope we can get a good turnout. ~Tom
IDPA - May 20
On Sunday, May 20th, there will be a Six stage IDPA Match. The match will require a minimum pistol round count of 89. There will be Two stages with a shot gun, 12 birdshot and 2 slugs minimum. The weather should be warm and sunny. Hope you can be there.
3-Gun Match Results
It was a perfect day, we had a great turnout with 7 challenging and fun stages. Thanks to all for helping with the set up and tear down, these stages can be complicated. Special thanks to our ROs for the extra effort! Thanks to Dave for taking pics, I will try to get some posted soon. Chris Estes took the Limited top spot, Jason Brown the Tactical and Bill Garland the Tactical 55 divisions. Chris Estes was our overall match winner, Great job, Chris!!! Our next match will be a mini match on June 10th, 3 stages, you can run them twice and keep your best score.
IDPA Classifier - May 8
We will be holding our second IDPA Classifier match of the season on Tuesday evening. We will run it from 4 pm until around 7pm for both the early and the late birds. The match fee is only $5, the round count is 90. Come one, come all to Bay 3.

USPSA Two-Gun Results
A great big thanks to all the guys that showed up to shoot today. It was a lot of work testing the props and setups for our upcoming State Championship, but we made it and had a great time to boot! The results from the match are now available online.
USPSA Two-Gun - May 5
This weekend's match promises to be very exciting as we prepare for the upcoming Oregon State Championship. We will be previewing some of the props and perhaps some of the stages for the big match. You won't want to miss out!
We will need lots of help to get everything set up in time. So please come out early!
Mixed Steel Results
The results from Saturday's Mixed Steel match are now available online.
Mixed Steel - April 28
We will be holding a Mixed Steel match on Saturday, the 28th. (A work party to follow on lthe 29th.....we still have a lot of work to do and it would be appreciated if you could make that work party. Painting, clean-up, etc.)
We will have seven stages, two or which will be shotgun. Plan on two slugs and about 25 rounds of birdshot. (Lots of reloading.) The five pistol stages will require a minimum of 125 rounds. We will have one standards type stage, one plate rack stage, two skill drill type stages and one field course.
The match fee will be $15 for latecomers and $10 for those who arrive by 7:45 am and assist with set-up. The safety briefing will commence at 9 am. We should be finished no later than 1 or 1:30 pm.
IDPA Classifier - April 24
There will be an IDPA Classifier Match on Tuesday evening, the 24th, starting at around 4 pm for the early birds. It will run until we either run out of light or run out of shooters, whichever comes first. Feel free to arrive any time between 4 pm and 6 pm. The match fee is $5 per shooter with an extra $2 for each time you shoot it. The round count is exactly 90 per attempt. The gate will be open for you.
CPS Work Party
We will be having a CPS work party on Sunday, April 29th starting at 9am and running until we get our scope of work for the day completed. (This work party replaces the one we had discussed as occurring this weekend, the 21st or the 22nd.) We need 10 hardy souls. If you can make it for some painting, minor carpentry work, general cleanup, etc. please come on out. Grubby clothes will be in order and a packed lunch will more than likely be required. IDPA Match - April 15th
The first IDPA Match of the year will be this Sunday, April 15th, at 9:00 a.m. Set up time is 7:30 a.m. Match fee will be $20 ($5 off if you are there by 7:40 a.m. to help set up) There will be 7 stages with a minimum round count of 74 for the pistol, 10 bird shot and 2 slugs for the shot gun. Three Gun Mini-Match - April 14th
Join us Saturday for our first, regular Three Gun Match! We will have:
Chamber Flags for carbine and shotgun are required! Bring ‘em. We will have a very limited supply for sale at the match.

USPSA Results
Well our summer shooting season kicked off with some HOT competition. We had 18 shooters turn out to run their pistols and carbines on some challenging stages.
In the results, Mark Sue took three stage wins (all pistol) and Bill Garland, Ryan Fraker, and Landon Rasmussen each took a stage. In the end, though, it was Bill Garland edging out the field with some very solid shooting with both guns to win the overall match. See the full results here.

USPSA Two Gun Match - April 7th
Paper season is back! Join us this coming Saturday for the first USPSA match of the year. As usual, it will be a carbine / pistol match with a USPSA classifier. Please note that we are now using our Summer match and setup times.
Match Details:
The Classifier will be CM99-28 Hillbilton Drill. Carbine stages are open to any semi-automatic rifle (including .22lr).

Mixed Steel PRACTICE Match - Jan 21
For this Saturday's match we've got something new planned! We will be experimenting with a practice format. Basically, shooters will be given the opportunity to run a stage (or just parts of a stage) as much as they want in a laid-back atmosphere.
The shooter will eventually shoot the stage for score, but only when he feels he is ready. There will be fewer stages but a LOT more shooting! Plan on the following:

2012 Calendar
2011 has been a great year at CPS, but 2012 looks like it will be even better! Next year's match calendar has just been uploaded.
Some points of interest are the Oregon State USPSA Championships that we will be hosting in May and the Major Three-Gun match in July. Also note that Three-Gun matches have become part of our regular lineup! We will be having one every month starting next summer.

New people who wish to shoot with us are required to do the following:
1) Study our Safety Manual
2) Take the Safety Exam and bring it with them to their first match
3) If intending to shoot long-guns, read our Long-Gun Manual
At the match, they will be given a Safety Briefing followed by assignment of a match mentor. Safety is first. Everything else is secondary. If you do not go through this process, you will not shoot.
